  • 赋能 vs. 无能：放眼科技行业，近年无数新技术和平台都以「赋能」（empower）为使命，声称自己为用户和创作者提供了亟需的获取和传播信息的能力。然而，支撑着这种赋能叙事的，是一种「无能」的假定：用户没有能力自主找到需要的信息，而是需要算法来推荐和投喂；创作者没有能力自主和受众建立关系，而是需要平台和竞价「优化」来牵线搭桥。相比于「赋能」，用户和创作者更需要的或许是「还能」，夺回他们被复杂技术以「赋能」名义攫取的独立获取或传播信息的能力。

  • Colma, CA 在旧金山以南16公里的一个小城，当年的淘金热导致加州人口聚集，生存条件和卫生状况导致大量的人失去生命。这座城市当初是为了作为墓地而建，且大多数土地都被规划成墓葬用地，因此该市埋葬的死者数高达 150 多万，甚至比生活于此的在世人口多近千倍，而被称为 “寂静的城市”（The City of the Silent）。现在该市的官方网站也戏称 “在科尔马活着是伟大的”（It’s great to be alive in Colma）。
